Base network is integrated with all PIP products.
What is Base?
Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) chain that offers a safe, low-cost, developer-friendly way to build on-chain. Base is an L2 built on OP Stack in collaboration with Optimism. Some of the highlights of Base are:
Secured by Ethereum: Base is built with the security and scalability you need to power your decentralized apps. It leverages the underlying security of Ethereum, along with Coinbase’s best practices, to enable you to confidently onramp into Base from Coinbase, Ethereum L1, and other interoperable chains.
Empowered by Coinbase: Base makes it easy to build decentralized apps with access to Coinbase’s products, users, and tools.
Base offers full EVM compatibility at a fraction of the cost and is committed to pushing forward the developer platform.
Open source: Base aims to be decentralized, permissionless, and open to anyone with the vision of creating a standard, modular, rollup agnostic Superchain powered by Optimism.
You can now send and receive Base network tokens with all PIP products. Plus, we're excited to share that you can also use Coinbase Wallet with our Social pay extension, giving you more ways to explore Web3 payment options. Plus, you can even farm and claim rewards directly from the Base network.
Ethereum and USDbC will be available upon the release of our Base network integration. This integration marks the beginning of a dynamic journey, as we plan to regularly incorporate new tokens as more projects emerge on the Base network.
If you are a PIP user, just login to one of our products with any network you use except Base network, go to the wallets page and connect your Base wallet.
If you are a new user, just select and Base network and connect your Base wallet to start your PIP journey!
